Francis Coppola kept this and a few other pieces from Dracula in a display case at his Winery for several years. My father worked for him for at least a decade and whenever he had to drag me to work with him, I spent most of my time hanging around this small display, in awe of whatever hand crafted such nightmarish beauty. It was possibly my first serious encounter with fashion, costume, and the transformative power of the medium itself. Over time I would come to encounter others I consider master costumers - Head, Galliano, McQueen, Gaultier, and Mugler (Pre Nicola) but Eiko was the first.
